Job description

About the organisation

This is a long-established, purpose-led semi-state organisation delivering major development and infrastructure programmes across Ireland. Backed by government support and a strong pipeline of growth, it is committed to building sustainable communities and maintaining a collaborative, inclusive, high-performance culture.

Role overview

As HR Business Partner, you will support the delivery of the People & Culture strategy by working closely with senior leaders and business teams. The role combines practical, solution-oriented HR support across the employee lifecycle with a strong advisory element. You will be a trusted partner to managers on workforce planning, performance, employee relations, and recruitment, while also leading selected HR initiatives across engagement, retention, pay and benefits, and governance. In addition, you will coach managers, manage employee relations issues, contribute to HR projects, and help improve policies and processes to ensure a consistent and compliant HR service.

Key accountabilities

  • Partner with leaders and business units to deliver HR support aligned to the People & Culture plan.
  • Advise managers on workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, and hiring activity.
  • Lead and support HR programmes focused on engagement, retention, compensation and benefits, and governance.
  • Coach people managers to strengthen day-to-day people management capability.
  • Handle employee relations matters in line with policy and best practice.
  • Contribute to HR projects and ongoing improvements to policies, processes, and service delivery.
  • Work with the wider HR team to maintain a joined-up and consistent people service across the organisation.

Requirements

  • A degree in Human Resources or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner role or a similar position.
  • Strong understanding of employee lifecycle management, employee relations, and HR best practice.
  • Proven experience running recruitment campaigns and supporting talent acquisition.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions at leadership level.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability, with skill in managing several priorities at once.
  • A proactive, practical, and detail-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Public sector or semi-state experience, including exposure to audit and governance processes, would be beneficial.

What you can expect

  • A competitive pay and benefits package.
  • Opportunity for professional development and career progression.
  • Exposure to large-scale, high-impact projects.
  • A supportive, inclusive, values-driven workplace.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
