About the Role
As part of NASA's operations in Houston, TX, this role contributes to making Amazon the Earth's Best Employer by supporting a significant hourly workforce and business leaders. The HR Business Partner role blends generalist HR skills with a focus on leadership growth, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
Working onsite, you will collaborate closely with business leaders to implement HR initiatives that cultivate talent, increase employee satisfaction, and enhance customer service internally. Using data-driven methodologies and HR metrics, you will create substantial business impact. Additionally, you may lead junior HR staff and direct projects that improve the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze site operations to identify recurring issues and root causes, making well-informed decisions aligned with policies and regulatory compliance.
- Leverage analytics to recognize trends and forecast challenges, converting insights into actionable strategies to bolster employee experience and business results.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives and recognition schemes while maintaining consistent floor presence to detect early signs of disengagement and partner with leadership on targeted improvements.
- Coach leaders on effective team management, including performance reviews, team building, and navigating complex employee relations issues.
- Collaborate with leadership to maintain equitable talent acquisition, development, and promotion practices, fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Promote adoption and optimization of HR technologies, including AI and self-service tools, aiming to enhance user experience and operational efficiency without sacrificing critical personal service.

Team Overview
The North American Sort Center (NASC) network is a critical component of Amazon’s Middle Mile Operations, comprising over 100 facilities across the U.S. and Canada. The NASC HR team is dedicated to creating a resilient, solutions-driven environment enabling autonomy in a diverse workforce, promoting connection, development, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant human resources or equivalent experience in operational environments such as manufacturing, distribution, logistics, retail, healthcare, or hospitality.
- Proven skills in managing employee processes including onboarding, benefits, investigations, training, and talent management.
- Experience working in dynamic operational settings is advantageous.
- Strong capability to lead and support others in HR technology use, enhancing user adoption and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships with business leaders and manage complex employee relations and coaching scenarios.
- Track record of driving employee engagement and retention initiatives with measurable outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this role in Houston, TX is $67,600 to $118,400 USD. The compensation package also includes sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid leave, and support for work-life balance.
