About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable HR professional with a constructive attitude, strong relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. CML, with over three decades of expertise in Civil Engineering and a reputation for excellent client feedback, invites applications for an experienced HR Advisor. This role demands in-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment activities including candidate attraction, screening, pre-employment verification, and onboarding, collaborating closely with hiring managers and external recruitment agencies using an Automated Tracking System.
- Coordinate induction and integration processes for new employees.
- Oversee the offboarding process by ensuring proper documentation, conducting exit interviews, and maintaining relevant records.
- Assist in the creation, revision, and dissemination of company HR policies and procedures.
- Provide general HR administrative support, ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Offer health and wellbeing support, guide management, promote employee assistance programs, and manage systems related to sickness, holiday, and absence tracking.
- Advise management and employees on performance management matters, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Support the HR Manager in cultivating trustworthy relationships throughout the company and contribute to HR plans and projects.
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- At least 3 years of demonstrable experience in an HR Advisory capacity (mandatory).
- Experience within Construction or Engineering sectors, or in commercial/SME environments supporting multi-site, blue collar workers is advantageous.
- Familiarity with payroll administration is essential.
- Possesses CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent professional credential.
- Educated to A-Level standard or higher.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment laws and HR best practices.
- Mental Health First Aid certification is a plus.
- Proficient in IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
