Position Summary
The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) in Essendon is seeking a dedicated Hospital Clinic Assistant for casual and part-time work. This multidisciplinary hospital operates 24/7 with a team of skilled emergency and specialty veterinarians and nurses, committed to providing comprehensive emergency and referral services with high clinical standards and compassionate care.
Role Responsibilities
In this vital role, you will support the wellbeing of hospitalised animal patients by ensuring they receive comfort, nourishment, and basic necessities such as food, water, walks, and clean bedding. Additionally, you will help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital environment, contributing significantly to daily operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate must be available for day and evening shifts including weekends in this round-the-clock facility. Applicants should possess strong time management and organizational skills, self-motivation, and the capacity to work independently or within a team. A positive attitude, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and commitment to high-quality patient care under busy conditions are essential.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Certificate II or higher in Animal Studies is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience working in a veterinary clinical setting is highly regarded
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices within a clinic or boarding environment
- Ability to obtain or have completed Fear Free Pets certification
- Reliable own transport for commuting needs
