Role Overview
TEKsystems is seeking a fully remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative specializing in medical billing and customer service. This position requires working primarily in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone and prefers candidates residing near Maryland. The role centers on addressing patient inquiries related to medical billing and insurance claims, with a strong emphasis on understanding Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to patient questions regarding their medical accounts and billing concerns.
- Resolve issues and provide clear explanations of insurance payments and patient responsibilities.
- Maintain professional and courteous interactions to promote customer satisfaction and uphold the company's positive reputation.
- Assist management in onboarding and training new staff members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of medical billing processes and multi-payer billing or collections systems.
- Strong ability to interpret and explain EOB documents and insurance information.
- Experience in medical claims, billing, or related customer service roles.
- Understanding of medical insurance functions and how to communicate insurance coverage details to patients.
- Excellent patient service and communication skills.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; certification such as CPAT considered an advantage.
Contract and Compensation Details
This is a contract-to-hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland, offering pay between $17 to $19 per hour. Candidates must be able to work within EST hours.
