Job description
Role Overview
UPMC Whitfield Hospital in Waterford is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join its permanent team. The role supports patient care and ward operations in a busy hospital environment.
Key Duties
- Carry out patient observations as required.
- Follow and uphold infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
- Keep linen, treatment-room supplies, cleaning solutions and office stationery stocked as directed by the Ward Manager or Deputy.
- Ensure bedside equipment remains clean and sterile.
- Set up the bed and patient area for individuals recovering after surgery.
- Accompany patients when they need to move to other departments.
Experience and Qualifications
- A relevant FETAC Level 5 qualification is required.
- At least one year of experience in a similar healthcare support role is needed.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities are essential.
- Good communication skills are required.
Pay and Working Pattern
The salary range for this position is €32,870.29 to €40,014.94 per year, calculated on a 37-hour work week.
