About the role

The organisation is hiring Healthcare Assistants on both full-time and part-time bases in Cork. This role offers the chance to build skills in a supportive workplace alongside an experienced healthcare team in a diverse, multicultural setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff in delivering compassionate, holistic, high-standard care to residents.
  • Support residents with hygiene and personal care while always preserving dignity and respect.
  • Help residents with eating and drinking in accordance with their nutrition needs.
  • Support mobility, including the use of appropriate aids where needed.
  • Accompany and/or help transfer residents as instructed by nursing staff.
  • Provide support in end-of-life care.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by nurses or management as required.

Requirements

  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare, or another relevant healthcare qualification, is required or currently being pursued.
  • Experience in a care environment is an advantage but not compulsory.
  • Strong communication abilities and a kind, caring manner are important.
  • A good standard of English is needed.
  • Availability for varied rota patterns, including days, nights, weekends, and Monday-to-Sunday coverage, is required.

Additional information

This position is open for both full-time and part-time engagement. The work is based onsite in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. Shift coverage may include days, nights, and weekends across the full week.
