Role Overview

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Housekeeping Assistant for our Macroom facility. The role focuses on maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the home to ensure a comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning duties in communal spaces and residents’ rooms within the nursing home.
  • Handle cleaning equipment and solutions properly, ensuring their correct storage and use.
  • Collect and dispose of domestic waste appropriately.
  • Address spillages promptly and utilize wet floor signs to maintain safety.
  • Assist with kitchen duties, including collecting trays, operating dishwashers, and maintaining cleanliness in the unit’s kitchen area.
  • Wash crockery and cutlery as necessary.
  • Prepare meal trays for residents.
  • Uphold safe work practices to maintain a secure environment at all times.
  • Adapt to rotational duties flexibly based on nursing home needs.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous practical experience in a related environment is preferable but not required.
  • A genuine passion for elder care and commitment to providing a clean, safe living space.
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively within a team.
  • Professional demeanor combined with a caring and empathetic approach.
  • Able to handle challenging situations with composure.
  • Adequate English language skills for communication.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts throughout the week, including weekends.
