Overview
The Emergency Department at Frimley Park Hospital is seeking to hire an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) currently employed within the UK healthcare sector at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This role demands a compassionate individual dedicated to providing excellent care to patients and supporting clinical teams.
This position requires front-facing clinical involvement and excellent proficiency in spoken and written English. Applicants must already be residing in the UK and have relevant experience within a UK healthcare environment. Only current FHFT employees are eligible to apply.
Key Duties
- Assist nursing staff under their direct or indirect supervision with patient care and support the smooth operation of the department.
- Provide clinical support while respecting patients' dignity, cultural beliefs, and individual values in care delivery.
- Maintain excellent customer service towards patients, their families, carers, and colleagues.
- Carry out clinical tasks such as collecting samples (urine, fecal, swabs), monitoring patient vitals including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and NEWS2 scoring, alerting nursing staff to any significant changes.
- Care for patients requiring enhanced observation either one-on-one or in bays as needed.
- Assist with patients' feeding, taking into consideration special diets and cultural needs.
- Support patients with personal hygiene and mobility, utilizing equipment for safe patient transfer after assessment.

Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Care Certificate, Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or overseas nursing degree.
- Evidence of general education such as GCSEs or equivalent functional skills.
- At least one year’s experience in an Emergency Department setting is required.
- Desirable: knowledge of personal care procedures and prior hospital experience.
