About the Opportunity
This position is for a Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor supporting the Inpex contract in Darwin. The role acts as the main on-site contact for health, safety and environment matters, helping maintain safe operations, strengthen safety behaviours and ensure compliance with legal, customer and company standards.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager and regional HSE leaders, providing practical support at site level while continuing to develop your capability in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and reinforce the company’s safety-focused culture across the site.
- Work with site leadership to support safe and compliant day-to-day operations.
- Provide practical advice on HSE matters in line with legislation, internal standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain and improve the GHSEQ Management System.
- Assist with HSE planning, risk registers, site inspections and audits.
- Serve as the site TRAC super user and ensure reporting quality and data accuracy.
- Support and lead incident investigations, corrective actions and analysis of trends.
- Deliver safety training, toolbox talks and communication updates.
- Develop productive relationships with customers and subcontractors to improve HSE outcomes.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, audits, contractor pre-qualification and licensing obligations.
- Stop unsafe work and escalate serious HSE risks when necessary.
About You
You are a hands-on safety professional who wants to grow further in a Health, Safety & Compliance career. You are comfortable working with operations, influencing safety performance and building your technical and leadership capability over time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate IV or an equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Working understanding of WHS and environmental legislation.
- Experience with HSE management systems and audits.
- Background in incident investigation, with ICAM experience preferred.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels.
- Ability to work independently while remaining open to learning and development.
