Job description

Overview

Ayrton Group is recruiting a Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to support a client on a utilities project located in the West Cork region. This full-time role is based from the client office in Bantry and requires regular site visits throughout West Cork. A company vehicle will be provided for site travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company and client standards.
  • Conduct frequent site audits and inspections to verify adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance and instructions on safety topics including noise management and machinery operation.
  • Support the oversight and management of subcontractors regarding safety practices.
  • Coordinate and facilitate health and safety training sessions.
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and apply corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Prepare and submit reports on safety incidents and provide data to upper management for review.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Keep accurate documentation of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • Work closely with management to promote and nurture a robust culture of safety within the organization.
  • Offer strategic advice and assist in the deployment of health and safety policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds at least a Level 6 qualification in Environmental Health & Safety or a comparable certification.
  • Has a minimum of three years' experience in health and safety roles on construction or utilities sites.
  • Prior exposure to utilities projects is advantageous.
  • Deep knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and skilled report writing capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Must possess a full Irish Driving Licence.
  • Eligibility to live and work legally in Ireland is required.
