Role overview
Ayrton Group is hiring a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor for a utilities project in West Cork, working with a plant hire client. This is a permanent-style full-time onsite role based from the client office in Bantry, with regular travel to sites across the West Cork area. A company vehicle is provided.
What you will do
- Build, roll out, and keep up to date the organisation’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Carry out routine site audits and inspections to confirm compliance with company and client rules, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Give advice and guidance on safety matters such as noise exposure, machinery use, and other workplace hazards.
- Support the coordination and supervision of subcontractors.
- Help plan and arrange health and safety training initiatives.
- Track incidents and near misses, investigate underlying causes, and help implement corrective actions to stop repeat events.
- Prepare incident and compliance reports, including statistical information for senior management.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Work with management to strengthen and promote a positive safety culture throughout the business.
- Offer practical, strategic advice to support the implementation of health and safety policies.
Requirements
- A Level 6 qualification in Environmental Health & Safety is required; equivalent qualifications may also be accepted.
- At least 3 years of experience in an on-site safety position.
- Experience on utilities projects is an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of current Irish health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and producing written reports.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Capable of managing several tasks and priorities at once.
- Must have legal permission to live and work in Ireland.
- A full Irish driving licence is essential.
