Job description

About sunday

sunday creates the fastest and simplest payment method for restaurants, allowing diners to pay, tip, and leave within about 10 seconds by scanning a QR code. With a focus on simplicity and trust, sunday supports thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France by helping operators turn tables faster, boost tips, and gain insightful analytics. The company is growing ambitiously, especially in the US market.

Role Summary

As the Head of Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling a world-class recruitment function. This role involves overseeing end-to-end hiring across all departments and international markets (France, UK, US), and building the systems, culture, and habits that enable consistent exceptional hiring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire recruitment lifecycle: from defining role requirements to sourcing, assessing, offering, and onboarding candidates while meeting specific time-to-fill targets and maintaining weekly pipeline reports.
  • Create a scalable, data-driven talent acquisition model by developing standardized procedures including ATS hygiene (maintaining 95%+ accuracy), scorecards, and structured interviews, alongside publishing weekly dashboards tracking key metrics and holding the team accountable.
  • Transition sourcing approach from reactive to proactive by ensuring at least 30% of hires come from outbound and passive pipelines rather than inbound only.
  • Manage and grow the TA team by coaching and upskilling recruiters, setting clear performance goals, and enabling each recruiter to close at least five roles monthly after ramp-up.
  • Enhance the employer brand and attraction strategy to increase inbound candidate volume by 30% via campaigns, partnerships, and targeted content, boosting sunday’s reputation as a top employer across operating countries.
  • Conduct strategic workforce planning with a 12-month rolling hiring roadmap updated quarterly, ensuring over 90% of hires align with business forecasts and providing monthly TA and business reviews.
  • Deliver market insights on compensation, competitors, and talent availability quarterly to keep offerings competitive in each geography.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience growing or transforming talent acquisition functions at fast-expanding tech startups or scale-ups with rapid growth trajectories.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead high-performing recruitment teams and generate recruitment pipelines proactively rather than waiting for inbound applications.
  • Strong ownership of recruitment KPIs including time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate (90%+), candidate NPS (60+), and hiring manager satisfaction (8/10+).
  • Business-oriented mindset with clear communication of recruitment outcomes and ROI to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing talent network in the tech or fintech sectors across France, UK, and/or US.
  • Prior work experience with companies recognized for exceptional TA practices.
  • Experience managing multi-market hiring across Europe and the US.

Personal Traits

  • Bias towards action with the agility to build, iterate, and execute rapidly without waiting for perfect conditions.
  • High standards and commitment to hiring quality, never settling for mediocrity.
  • Ability to build trust with candidates, hiring managers, and business leaders.
  • Resilience, self-motivation, and ambition with preference for challenges over comfort.
  • Innovative thinking that applies data-driven approaches to solve recruitment problems in novel ways.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary coupled with stock options.
  • Flexible vacation policy without restrictions.
  • Modern office spaces located in Paris, London, or New York featuring a hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office per week).
  • Full health insurance coverage for employees and their children.
  • Extensive responsibilities with ample growth potential as the company expands.

Recruitment Process

  • Submit application with resume.
  • Phone screening interview.
  • Interview with hiring manager.
  • Case study presentation to team members.
  • Leadership interview.
  • Reference checks (3 recent managers).
  • Offer extended.
