Job description
About the Company
The company is creating a faster and easier restaurant payment experience. Diners can scan a QR code to pay, add a tip, and complete the process in roughly 10 seconds. The product is designed to be straightforward and trustworthy for both restaurants and guests. It is already used by thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators improve table turnover, increase tips, and gain better business insights. The business is focused on growing its US presence with a strong sense of ownership, speed, and ambition.
About the Role
This is a hands-on recruiting position with full ownership from the initial intake discussion through to the final offer. You will manage end-to-end hiring for a range of functions, including Sales, Operations, Tech, and other areas. The role involves close partnership with hiring managers and the People team to define needs, move quickly, and hire the right people. You will also help improve the overall hiring experience by building pipelines and making each candidate interaction thoughtful and well-managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive high-volume hiring and strong recruitment outcomes across multiple sites in the UK and US, with primary focus on the US, while staying flexible for different time zones and candidate schedules.
- Handle the complete recruitment process for a variety of positions, including writing role briefs, finding candidates, interviewing, negotiating offers, and supporting onboarding.
- Take a proactive sourcing approach by using channels such as LinkedIn, job boards, networking events, and universities to create strong talent pipelines, especially for hard-to-fill roles.
- Improve recruiting workflows so they are efficient and candidate-friendly, while introducing practical tools, best practices, and metrics such as time-to-hire and funnel conversion.
- Work closely with hiring managers as a trusted partner by clarifying role expectations, sharing market knowledge, and supporting effective, fair interviewing and selection.
- Protect and improve the candidate experience by ensuring clear communication, timely follow-up, and a personal, professional interaction for every applicant.
- Help prepare the team for future growth by documenting processes, guiding interviewers, and supporting onboarding for additional recruiting team members.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in talent acquisition or recruiting, ideally gained in startups or other fast-growing companies, with exposure to hiring across different functions and seniority levels.
- A self-driven, entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to build from the ground up, adapt quickly, and work comfortably with autonomy and uncertainty.
- A strong record of finding and hiring excellent talent beyond basic job postings, along with a network in Europe and/or the United States.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present the company vision, negotiate effectively, and earn the confidence of candidates and hiring teams.
- Strong English fluency is required because it is the main working language; French language ability is a significant advantage for local hiring.
- For freelance engagement, the candidate must have valid freelance/auto-entrepreneur status or an equivalent setup and be able to invoice independently.
- Nice-to-have: experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment analytics.
- Nice-to-have: a mindset focused on process improvement, using data and feedback to refine recruiting methods.
- Nice-to-have: genuine interest in the company’s mission of transforming restaurant payments.
- Standout traits include curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, strong prioritization skills, a constructive questioning style, and fluency in both French and English.
What We Offer
- A freelance assignment with a competitive daily rate, to be discussed based on experience.
- Flexible work arrangements, with office access in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, New York, and Chicago.
- Potential for the engagement to be extended depending on business needs.

- Application submission with a resume.
