Job description

About sunday

sunday develops a swift and straightforward payment system tailored for restaurants. By scanning a QR code, guests can complete payments, leave tips, and finish their visit in roughly ten seconds. The company is committed to creating intuitive products that inspire confidence in both restaurants and customers. Present in thousands of venues across the US, UK, and France, sunday helps venues increase table turnover, enhance tipping, and gain valuable insights. As the company experiences rapid growth in the US, it prioritizes innovation, ownership, speed, and ambition.

Role Overview

As a fast-growing company doubling annually, sunday seeks a proactive Head of Talent Acquisition to design and scale its recruitment engine. This role is responsible for end-to-end recruitment across all functions and markets including France, UK, and US, establishing a high-performing and data-driven talent acquisition function. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the individual will influence company growth and culture significantly by formalizing the recruitment process and building a resilient team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire recruitment lifecycle for all departments, ensuring timely fulfillment of roles with established time-to-fill benchmarks and weekly pipeline reporting.
  • Develop standardized, data-backed talent acquisition processes including applicant tracking system maintenance, scorecards, structured interviews, and transparent reporting of recruitment metrics.
  • Transition from reactive hiring to proactive sourcing, aiming for at least 30% of hires to arise from outbound and passive candidate pipelines.
  • Manage, coach, and expand the talent acquisition team, driving recruiters to meet performance targets such as closing a minimum of five roles monthly after ramp-up.
  • Enhance employer branding and attraction strategies to boost inbound candidate flow by 30% via partnerships and targeted content across markets.
  • Maintain a strategic 12-month hiring plan aligned with business forecasts and conduct regular workforce reviews with leadership to address progress and hiring needs.
  • Provide quarterly competitive benchmarks on compensation, market competitors, and talent availability to keep offers attractive and competitive.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in fast-growing tech startups or scaleups with an understanding of rapid scaling dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or reinvent talent acquisition functions and lead high-performing teams.
  • A hunter mindset with strong outbound sourcing skills, actively pursuing talent rather than relying solely on applications.
  • Accountability for recruitment KPIs including time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates of at least 90%, candidate satisfaction scores above 60, and hiring manager satisfaction above 8 out of 10.
  • Strong business acumen, able to align recruitment actions with company ROI and goals.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Established connections within the tech or fintech talent markets in France, UK, or US.
  • Experience at organizations known for exemplary talent acquisition practices.
  • Cross-border recruiting experience spanning Europe and the United States.

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive and agile, willing to iterate and implement solutions rapidly without seeking ideal conditions.
  • Sets and maintains a high standard for hiring quality, refusing to settle for mediocrity.
  • Ability to build trust with candidates, hiring managers, and business leaders.
  • Resilience, self-motivation, and ambition focused on embracing challenges.
  • Innovative thinker who uses data to challenge conventions and solve recruitment problems creatively.

Benefits and Culture

  • Competitive compensation package including salary and stock options.
  • Generous vacation policy without fixed limits.
  • Modern offices located centrally in Paris, London, and New York, with a hybrid work model requiring three days in-office weekly.
  • Comprehensive employer-paid healthcare coverage that includes employees' children.
  • Opportunity for extensive responsibility and career growth during a period of rapid company scaling.

Recruitment Process

  • Submit an application including your resume.
  • Participate in an initial phone interview.
  • Interview with the hiring manager.
  • Complete a case study presentation for potential team members.
  • Meet with a leadership team member.
  • Provide references from the last three managers.
  • Receive a hiring offer upon successful completion.
