Job Overview
The Head of Strategic Transformation role spans the entire Trust, collaborating with Operational Divisions and corporate teams. The core responsibilities involve leading multifaceted transformation initiatives across physical and mental health services, overseeing infrastructure projects including benefit realization frameworks, and implementing Trust-wide governance mechanisms to track progress, align milestones, and manage risks effectively.
Key Accountabilities
- Mobilize and steer complex transformation programmes endorsed by Divisional Managing Directors.
- Develop, manage, and optimize change frameworks ensuring consistent reporting and risk mitigation across the Trust.
- Collaborate with divisional leadership to remove obstacles, elevate change capabilities, and embed transformation into everyday clinical operations.
- Deploy rigorous mechanisms to evaluate and report the benefits and clinical outcomes of transformational schemes.
Strategic Aims
- Achieve excellence in neighborhood care by providing seamless, community-focused support.
- Prioritize early intervention strategies emphasizing youth-centric services.
- Lead healthcare transformation within the sector through digital innovation, data utilization, and research integration.
Responsibilities
- Direct divisional and organizational transformation priorities in partnership with Divisional Board.
- Implement robust management systems to ensure delivery of core transformation initiatives.
- Establish comprehensive reporting protocols for Boards to monitor progress and escalate risks.
- Lead and support Business & Transformation teams alongside clinical and operational stakeholders.
- Manage external consultancy resources where necessary.
- Identify and drive additional redesign projects aimed at cost savings.
- Oversee complex change programmes engaging clinical teams and managers to elevate service delivery and user outcomes.
- Ensure stakeholder-inclusive adaptation of new working methods, considering commissioners and the wider health economy.
- Foster a culture of continuous service improvement within divisions.
- Lead project/programme management efforts aligning with Trust’s strategic objectives, adhering to quality, budget, and timelines.
- Monitor and report comprehensively on projects across divisions.
- Design and implement training programmes to enhance project management capabilities.
- Provide leadership and make timely decisions managing staff and resources effectively.
Eligibility & Work Authorization
This position currently does not qualify for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship except for candidates covered by the temporary exemption for continuous Skilled Worker visa holders since before 04/04/2024. Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience.
- Master's or postgraduate degree in management, or equivalent extensive senior management experience.
- Programme management qualifications or relevant experience.
Experience
- Substantial senior management experience in business or project environments; NHS or comparable sector experience highly preferred.
- Leadership skills with team management and motivation experience.
- Proven track record in change management and senior stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of programme and project management methodologies.
- Experience developing business cases.
- Budgetary responsibility including budget setting and financial process knowledge.
- Beneficial: Familiarity with clinical services.
