Overview

The Moura Cluster is currently inviting applications for a committed and cooperative Head of Special Education Services (HO2) to lead and enhance inclusive education initiatives throughout its school communities. This leadership role focuses on supporting students who have diverse learning requirements, enhancing staff skills, and collaborating closely with school administrators, families, and support agencies to foster positive educational outcomes for all learners.

  • Moura State School (0.6 Full-Time Equivalent)
  • Moura State High School (0.4 FTE)
  • Banana State School

This role specifically supports all schooling sectors with an Early Childhood Development Program based at Moura State School and Moura State High School, with travel to Banana State School to assist staff and students there. Moura State School benefits from proximity to regional centers Rockhampton and Gladstone. Teacher accommodation is available.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate high-quality support and guidance through the Special Education Program or Early Childhood Development Program.
  • Lead and manage these programs to provide classroom teachers with advice tailored for students with disabilities as necessary.
  • Offer expert advice to school leadership, teachers, and staff to develop, plan, and implement effective reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Organize and deliver focused intensive teaching interventions for students needing additional support.
  • Manage or coordinate case management for students requiring extensive or substantial adjustments in their learning plans.
