About the Role
Etqan Global Academy (EGA), a newly founded IB World School in Doha, Qatar, affiliated with Nord Anglia Education, is seeking a passionate Early Years Teacher. The role focuses on fostering an engaging play-based, inquiry-led educational environment for children aged 3 to 6 years, structured around the IB PYP Early Years framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver stimulating, play-centered learning activities consistent with the IB PYP Early Years standards.
- Establish and sustain a safe, welcoming, and motivating classroom environment where every child feels appreciated and inspired.
- Evaluate and monitor children's progress through observational assessments and portfolio documentation to guide next learning steps.
- Cultivate strong, cooperative relationships with children's families through consistent communication and involvement.
- Participate actively with the Early Years team in planning, reflecting on, and reviewing units of inquiry.
- Promote IB learner attributes, international-mindedness, and the PYP attitudes within daily classroom practices.
- Support children’s emotional well-being, growing autonomy, and social skills development.
- Contribute constructively to the broader school community, including continuing professional development, school events, and enhancement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a recognised teaching qualification relevant to Early Years, primary, or early childhood education (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent).
- Prior teaching experience with children aged 3 to 6 in Early Years settings, preferably with exposure to IB or international schools.
- Familiarity with the IB PYP Early Years framework or similar inquiry-based early years curriculum models.
- Strong understanding of child development theories and child-led, play-based learning methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a nurturing demeanor toward young learners and their families.
- Dedication to inclusive education practices and the overall well-being of all children.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Experience within international schools is preferred.
