About the Role

Maynooth University operates a modern, purpose-built Crèche located in the North Campus, managed by the Student Services team within the Office for Students and Learning. The Crèche provides childcare and pre-school services for children of university staff and students, emphasizing a welcoming, child-centered environment since 1977.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced Early Years Educator who acts as a Quality and Curriculum Mentor to enhance high-quality pedagogical practices throughout our setting. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with fellow educators to improve curriculum planning, assessment, reflective practice, pedagogical documentation, and quality improvement initiatives, aligned with the principles of the Aistear and Síolta frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Support educators in curriculum planning and assessment implementations
  • Promote reflective practice and pedagogical documentation across the Crèche
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives consistent with Aistear and Síolta frameworks
  • Work collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team providing childcare and pre-school services
  • Report to the Crèche Manager or appointed representative

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in early childhood education
  • Strong understanding of Aistear and Síolta early years frameworks
  • Ability to mentor and lead quality curriculum development
  • Collaborative and reflective working approach

Additional Information

The position falls under Executive Assistant (2026) pay scale with a salary range of €32,855 to €39,997 annually (6 point scale) and appointments will comply with public sector pay standards.
