About the Role

Crimson Global Academy seeks an accomplished Head of Science to oversee the Science faculty at the Aoraki Campus, leading Biology, Chemistry, and Physics educators delivering IGCSE and A Level curricula. This pivotal role involves elevating academic standards, managing curriculum excellence, fostering innovative teaching methods including AI integration, and shaping future science education online.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Science department covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Manage curriculum design and ensure effective delivery for Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International IGCSE and A Level programs.
• Uphold exemplary teaching standards, assessments, feedback mechanisms, and student achievement outcomes.
• Provide coaching, conduct lesson observations, and support ongoing professional development for teachers.
• Promote innovation by incorporating artificial intelligence and educational technology into science instruction.
• Contribute actively to the school's leadership team and strategic planning initiatives.
• Engage with students, parents, and prospective families to support community relationships.
• Support extracurricular science activities including Olympiads, competitions, and clubs.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

• Valid New Zealand teaching registration.
• Extensive secondary Science teaching experience.
• Strong subject-matter expertise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
• Experience in faculty or departmental leadership roles.
• In-depth knowledge of IGCSE and A Level Science curricula, preferably Pearson Edexcel and/or Cambridge International.
• Demonstrated success in delivering strong student academic results.
• Comfortable and skilled in online teaching environments.
• Passion for integrating AI to enhance learning and teaching.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
