Job description
Position Overview
The Singapore Management University is seeking a seasoned leader to helm its Professional & Continuing Education (PCE) division on a three-year contractual basis. This pivotal role involves shaping enterprise strategies, fostering integration, championing business transformation, steering performance insights, and spearheading organisational change.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop the overarching SMU PCE strategy by pinpointing growth opportunities, prioritizing strategic initiatives, and establishing distinct market positioning.
- Craft and assess strategic alternatives, providing clear, well-founded recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
- Ensure seamless alignment and collaboration among various units including schools, SMU Academy, Executive Development, and central departments to enable cohesive execution of PCE initiatives.
- Mediatetrade-offs between diverse stakeholder priorities and operational frameworks to attain consensus and coordination.
- Innovate and pilot new business models, partnership frameworks, and sector initiatives that can be scaled institutionally.
- Drive the transformation of existing business lines, including product portfolio refinement within SMUA and Executive Development.
- Establish mechanisms to track the effectiveness, outcomes, and impacts of PCE programs and initiatives.
- Lead data gathering efforts, analyze market trends, and leverage learner and enterprise insights to refine offerings continuously.
- Adapt and evolve PCE strategies responsively in light of market dynamics and internal feedback.
- Orchestrate change management to facilitate adoption of new strategies and operational models, while fostering stakeholder engagement and institutional capability building.
- Assist the Vice President of PCE with broader organizational development and business transformation mandates.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possess a degree, with postgraduate credentials preferred, and have accrued a minimum of 12 years' experience in adult education, lifelong learning, or comparable sectors.
- Background in strategic planning, consulting, or transformational roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise learning systems, competency frameworks, and curriculum architecture.
- Proficiency in conducting market research, customer insight analysis, and program evaluation techniques.
- Expertise in organizational development and managing change processes.
- Demonstrated skill in influencing and engaging senior-level stakeholders across multifaceted organizations.
- Strong analytical aptitude coupled with strategic thought leadership and problem-solving skills.
