Job Overview
Al Rabeeh Academy is inviting applications for the position of Head of Performing Arts to commence in January 2027. This role requires a dedicated professional to manage the Performing Arts department, teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with key emphasis on GCSE Performing Arts education. Experience teaching A Levels is also preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Performing Arts department, ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, and student achievement across Drama, Dance, and Music.
- Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the British curriculum standards.
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking Performing Arts vision promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
- Use diverse assessment tools to monitor and enhance students' practical and theoretical progress.
- Manage curriculum planning, departmental quality assurance, teaching resources, and enriching performance-based experiences.
- Support staff through mentoring, coaching, and professional development initiatives to uphold high teaching standards.
- Organize and oversee school productions, concerts, and community events to ensure professional and creative excellence.
- Handle departmental budgets, resources, and facilities to optimize the learning environment.
- Foster positive parental engagement regarding student progress and activities.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to support whole-school priorities and cross-curricular projects.
- Participate actively in school-wide events and initiatives, modeling professionalism and enthusiasm.
Qualifications and Experience
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, alongside PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching the English National Curriculum, preferably in international education settings.
- Competency in classroom management and a strong commitment to student welfare.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork capabilities.
