Job description

Role Overview

The Head of EPR Operational Change leads the operational readiness and continuous improvement efforts critical to implementing the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme, ensuring the delivery of the highest quality patient care. As a senior management team member reporting to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer/Programme Director, this role manages four main areas: benefits realisation, communications, training, and business change, coordinating activities to prepare divisions and corporate services for change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Benefits, Business Change, Communications, and Training workstreams, ensuring cohesive and coordinated plans aligned with programme goals.
  • Regularly report on benefits baselining and realisation progress to the EPR Programme Board.
  • Monitor and manage changes to working practices and benefits realisation to uphold operational ownership of benefits outlined in the Full Business Case (FBC).
  • Maintain accountability for understanding and implementing system configuration, decision support, and processes essential for successful EPR deployment and early benefits.
  • Ensure compliance of EPR activities with corporate policies, statutory regulations, and departmental standards.
  • Identify, report, and manage project-related risks while implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Lead benefits baselining in each specialty, applying best practice to maximise outcomes.
  • Advise the EPR Programme Board and Trust Board on workstream progress and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with operational leads to develop 'best practice' workflows delivering cost savings and improved processes, while adhering to legal, governance, and audit requirements.
