Role Overview

The Head of Finance for New Zealand will be a key leadership figure, reporting to the Finance Director ANZ, responsible for powering financial performance, guiding strategic decisions, and advocating sustainable growth within the New Zealand market. This fixed-term position (approximately 7 months) represents an exceptional chance to influence the financial direction of Reckitt NZ while partnering across functions including Commercial, Sales, Supply Chain, and ANZ leadership teams in a dynamic FMCG setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and partnership to the New Zealand Leadership Team.
  • Manage financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance oversight for the NZ business.
  • Deliver insightful commercial analysis to aid growth, profitability, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and oversee financial risks and opportunities, promoting performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Sales functions to optimize customer profitability, pricing, and trade investments.
  • Challenge and support business decisions through rigorous financial analysis and commercial advice.
  • Uphold strong financial governance, controls, and compliance within the NZ market.
  • Coordinate closely with ANZ and Regional Finance teams to ensure alignment on financial goals and objectives.
  • Lead and back transformational and change initiatives to advance business capabilities.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, financial discipline, and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or related field is required.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Substantial senior leadership experience in Finance within FMCG, Consumer Health, or Consumer Goods sectors.
  • Proven success in partnering with senior commercial leaders to influence business strategies.
  • Strong skills in commercial finance, business partnering, and managing P&L responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading planning, forecasting, and performance management processes.
  • Deep understanding of trade spending, customer profitability, and commercial investment decisions.
  • Experience operating effectively in complex, matrixed, and cross-functional organizational structures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication talents.
  • Ability to quickly gain credibility and make impactful contributions in a fast-evolving business environment.
