Head of Finance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance for a mid-market services company expanding its finance team to support ongoing growth and enhance operational effectiveness. Reporting directly to the CFO, this senior finance leader will oversee daily finance functions and collaborate closely with operational leadership across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance operations including monthly closing, financial statements, and supervision of the operating finance team.
• Collaborate with the CFO on company-wide financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Lead financial analysis during monthly operating reviews, perform variance analyses, and monitor operational performance reporting.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead the finance team comprising financial managers, analysts, and cross-functional business partners.
• Implement financial discipline practices such as budget compliance, managing working capital, and tracking ROI on operational expenditures.
• Act as a senior finance advisor to operating leaders for financial decision-making impacting business outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of 12 years in finance leadership roles, including positions like VP Finance, Finance Director, or senior controller.
• Experience preferred in growth-stage service companies or in environments backed by private equity.
• Strong capabilities in financial reporting, planning, and operational finance management.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required; CPA or MBA credentials are advantageous.
• Located in the U.S. and open to travel when necessary.

Compensation

Competitive base salary ranging from 225000 to 325000 annually plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
