Notion is a collaborative AI workspace designed to unify knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools into a single platform to streamline work. It serves millions of users from individuals to large enterprises, enhancing the way teams think and work together in the era of AI. We emphasize quality craftsmanship and human-centric work to provide more time for meaningful tasks.

Role Overview

As the Head of Early Career Recruiting, you will be responsible for developing and expanding Notion's early career talent acquisition strategies, especially beyond engineering, to include various functions across the business. You will collaborate with company leaders, universities, and talent networks to attract emerging professionals aligned with our values and high standards. The position is based in San Francisco or New York City with onsite work expected on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the comprehensive early career recruiting strategy across internships, new graduate hires, and early-career pipelines globally and cross-functionally.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-achieving early career recruiters, consistently holding them to high standards.
  • Provide strategic guidance to business leaders, offering insights on market trends, compensation, and talent assessment pertaining to early career candidates.
  • Champion the integration of AI tools and automation to enhance recruiting processes from sourcing to hiring.
  • Design and refine programs and systems such as internship structures, conversion frameworks, offers, and pipelines to optimize hiring speed without compromising quality.
  • Track and analyze important recruiting metrics to inform and improve hiring decisions.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to strengthen Notion's employer brand among early career communities.
  • Engage with internal ambassadors to foster connections and recruitment pipelines within the early talent network.

Required Qualifications

  • Over 4 years of leadership experience in early career talent acquisition including managing university recruitment, internship programs, and hiring early-in-career professionals across multiple functions.
  • Innovative understanding of attracting and evaluating early career talent, adaptable to evolving trends and approaches.
  • Proven success in scaling early career recruiting teams and programs in fast-growing and dynamic environments.
  • Strong strategic and operational abilities, able to navigate leadership discussions and hands-on recruiting challenges alike.
  • Analytical expertise to leverage data such as conversion rates and program ROI in decision making.
  • Credibility and influence at the executive level regarding talent strategies and hiring decisions.
  • Strong affinity for AI technologies, demonstrated by adopting and pioneering new tools to elevate recruiting effectiveness.
  • In-depth knowledge of early career compensation practices, talent market trends, and partnership mechanisms with educational institutions and communities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in program management or talent development, with a focus on structured early career programs like rotations and mentorships.
  • Track record of innovating early career recruitment through AI-driven workflows and broad adoption.
  • Expertise in diversity recruiting initiatives focused on underrepresented groups including HBCUs and community colleges.
  • Strong connections within the university recruiting and early career talent ecosystems.

Compensation and Commitment

Notion offers competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. For San Francisco or New York City-based roles, the estimated annual base salary ranges between $225,000 and $275,000, depending on experience and other factors.

Additional Information - Equal Opportunity and AI Philosophy

Notion is dedicated to equal employment opportunities for all qualified applicants, including those with diverse backgrounds or criminal histories, and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process upon request.

All employees are encouraged to embrace AI as an integral part of their work, applying it to improve collaboration and productivity rather than viewing it as a mere novelty.
