About the Role
This permanent leadership opportunity involves guiding multidisciplinary MEP design efforts for a leading building services company involved in a major healthcare-centric project in Ireland. The work arrangement includes four days per week on-site and one day working remotely from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement MEP design strategy with full technical governance oversight.
- Manage integration of mechanical, electrical, BIM, and specialist design disciplines.
- Critically review design documentation including specifications, calculations, schematics, submissions, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate input and activities across consultants, contractors, commercial and BIM teams, and project delivery groups.
- Ensure all designs comply with regulations, coordinate properly, are buildable, and commercially viable.
- Support offsite MEP initiatives such as DFMA, modularisation, installation processes, commissioning, and project handover.
- Lead as the senior technical design authority throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will be current or aspiring senior professionals such as Head of Design, Design Directors, Technical Directors, Associate Directors specializing in Building Services, MEP Design Managers, Building Services Leads, or Senior Principal Engineers ready to advance. Strong design leadership experience within consultancy or design-focused contractor settings is essential.
Desirable Experience
- Healthcare, hospitals, or clinical environment projects.
- Life sciences, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom design experience.
- Data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Experience with energy centers, plantrooms, and low-carbon building services.
- Expertise in offsite MEP construction, prefabrication, and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) techniques.
- Proficiency in BIM and Revit coordination.
