Job description
Role Summary
UPMC Whitfield Hospital in Waterford is seeking a permanent Healthcare Assistant. This role involves supporting patient care through a variety of clinical and operational tasks while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and patient support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient observations accurately and reliably.
- Adhere to and enforce infection prevention and control procedures.
- Manage inventory including linen, treatment room supplies, solutions, and stationery as directed by Ward Manager or Deputy.
- Ensure bedside equipment remains clean and sterile at all times.
- Prepare beds and patient surroundings, especially for those recovering post-operatively.
- Accompany patients to various hospital departments as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a relevant FETAC Level 5 qualification.
- At least one year of experience in a similar healthcare support role.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
Compensation
The position offers an annual salary ranging from €32,870.29 to €40,014.94 based on a 37-hour workweek.
