About the Role

Reporting to the VP of New Product Development in the CTO organisation, the Head of Design Management – Experience will establish, lead, and motivate a newly created team of experience-focused Design Managers. The role carries responsibility for defining and delivering outstanding end-to-end user experiences across Dyson’s categories, including Robotics, Environmental Care, Floorcare, Beauty, and future new businesses.

As a senior champion for the user, you will define the strategy, standards, and long-term vision for what excellent user experience should look like in a fast-changing market. You will shape the team, oversee major programmes, and influence senior leaders so that Dyson’s products continue to deliver innovation, delight, and ongoing improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Form, lead, and grow a high-performing team of Design Manager – Experience specialists, encouraging excellence, curiosity, and continuous development.
  • Establish and sustain the vision, standards, and strategy for exceptional user experience across both physical and digital journeys.
  • Act as the voice of the user throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring user insight informs choices, feature direction, and innovation.
  • Coach and direct team members, supporting personal growth, training needs, measurable objectives, and strong performance.
  • Define the Design Management – Experience function by hiring, training, motivating, and introducing new processes and working methods.
  • Oversee all aspects of end-to-end user experience across Dyson’s portfolio to ensure consistency, innovation, and measurable results.
  • Lead cross-functional programme teams and align Engineering, Design, Digital, Commercial, and Supply Chain around user-centred objectives.
  • Create and integrate requirements for data, analytics, and feedback systems so that user insight informs current and future development.
  • Compare Dyson’s experiences with leading brands and convert market trends into new standards and opportunities.
  • Spot opportunities for future-focused experiences that are inventive, differentiated, and reinforce Dyson’s position as an innovation leader.
  • Present strategy, progress, and user insights to C-level stakeholders and help secure investment and support across the business.
  • Own delivery of user experience goals, ensuring work is completed on schedule, to specification, and within cost and quality expectations.
  • Develop strong relationships with global stakeholders, commercial teams, and external partners to expand Dyson’s user experience ambitions.
  • Promote continuous improvement by challenging the team to discover better ways of working and raise the bar for the business.

About You

You should bring substantial leadership experience in product or user experience management within a technology-led, design-centred organisation. A strong grasp of both physical and digital product experiences is important, along with a track record of delivering successful products and solutions globally. You will also need experience in building strong teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments and in influencing senior leaders to shape strategy at a global level.

You should have strong awareness of market and user experience trends and the ability to anticipate how these trends can shape Dyson’s future approach.
