Overview
Morayfield State High School is inviting applications for the position of Head of Department - English, a leadership role focused on promoting curriculum excellence and fostering a culture characterized by high expectations, teamwork, and ongoing development. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to the English department, enhance teaching quality, nurture staff development, and implement a unified vision ensuring exceptional student learning results.
This is a Temporary Full-time position starting from 6 October 2026 to 10 December 2027, or as otherwise determined.

Role Responsibilities
- Lead the English department with a focus on curriculum aligned to school and departmental goals.
- Contribute actively to fulfilling the Early Childhood and State Schools Division vision.
- Enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
- Foster positive relationships among students, staff, and stakeholders.
- Guide the department toward a shared vision prioritizing high teaching standards and improved student outcomes.
- Cultivate an inclusive and high-achieving culture through leadership, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
- Establish strong connections with students, families, and the community.
- Strategically lead and manage departmental staff, curriculum, and resources to meet school priorities.
