Position Overview
Urangan State High School invites applications for the role of Head of Department - Curriculum, a leadership position responsible for guiding a multi-disciplinary team committed to preserving our tradition of creative excellence in music, dance, visual arts, and media. This role is a full-time temporary appointment until 25 June 2027 unless otherwise determined.
About Urangan State High School
Serving approximately 1300 students from Year 7 to Year 12, our award-winning school prioritizes curriculum implementation with fidelity. We offer a late start twice a week to facilitate collaborative and precise curriculum planning for our teachers, providing an additional 110 minutes weekly to promote work-life balance.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership to the department for high-quality and equitable student learning outcomes.
- Cultivate a culture emphasizing high expectations, social justice, and ongoing professional development to propel student and staff excellence.
- Establish and nurture effective collaborations with students, families, community organizations, and government bodies to support educational achievements.
- Offer strategic, forward-looking guidance while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, policies, and departmental standards.
- Oversee the management of human, financial, curriculum, and physical assets to align with department priorities and elevate student success.
