About the Role

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Head of Corporate Communications is tasked with overseeing AET's global communications to safeguard and enhance the company's reputation, brand identity, and operating licence. This key leadership position involves advising the President & CEO and Executive Team on strategic messaging and stakeholder communications across various audiences including employees, customers, partners, industry peers, and the broader market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AET's worldwide communications strategy aligning with business goals and long-term priorities.
  • Provide counsel on strategic communications and messaging to senior executives and leadership.
  • Craft executive communications including speeches, presentations, and key corporate messaging.
  • Manage AET's brand stewardship ensuring uniformity in messaging and protecting global reputation.
  • Enhance company visibility through media relations, thought leadership, events, sponsorships, and conferences.
  • Lead business-to-business marketing initiatives including value proposition and client communications.
  • Guide digital communication efforts such as website management, social media, and digital content planning.
  • Direct internal communications programs to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Collaborate with HR and business units for change management communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee major corporate events including ship naming ceremonies, town halls, and executive gatherings.
  • Lead crisis and incident communication efforts ensuring timely and accurate public messaging during critical events.
  • Coordinate with Emergency Response, Executive Leadership, external advisors, and partners to uphold company reputation in crises.
  • Build and manage a high-performance Corporate Communications team, nurturing talent and instituting best practices.
  • Establish strong partnerships internally and externally to deliver consistent and professional communication outcomes.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a similar field.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or a related area.
  • Proven track record in creating and executing organization-wide communication strategies.
  • Experience advising senior executives and leading media, executive, and crisis communications.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing and managing teams.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, stakeholder management, and influencing abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive or prominent issues.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Industry experience in maritime, shipping, energy, or asset-intensive sectors is advantageous.
