Job description
Role overview
King's Health Partners is looking for a skilled and strategically minded communications professional to step into the Head of Communications role on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is an opportunity to shape communications for one of the UK’s leading Academic Health Sciences Centres, working across a partnership that connects King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
What the role is responsible for
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape and deliver integrated communications activity that advances the KHP Strategy to 2030, strengthens collaboration across the partnership, improves reputation and engagement, and clearly demonstrates the value and impact of KHP’s work across research, education, innovation and healthcare improvement.
You will lead the Communications Team and provide senior communications advice to the Executive Director, Chief Strategy and Operating Officer, the Executive Group and the wider Senior Leadership Team.
Working across the partnership, you will help drive communications aligned to key strategic priorities including personalised health, digital health and data science, population health, capacity building and engagement, clinical academic integration, and policy and partnerships.
The role also involves building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across partner organisations, promoting joint messaging, supporting coordinated communications where needed, and ensuring the reputation of KHP is protected and strengthened.
You will be responsible for communicating KHP’s impact to staff, students, patients, partners, funders and other stakeholders, making sure the benefits of partnership working are clearly explained and understood.
