Role Summary
We are seeking a Head of Commercial Sales to lead our Commercial team. This senior leadership position involves overseeing sales, marketing, and pricing activities. The role demands guiding strategic sales execution, managing team performance, driving customer experience enhancements, fostering business development, and collaborating across the DCC Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability across sales channels.
- Design and manage the company’s customer proposition and experience for all channels.
- Develop plans to expand and enhance AEI’s renewable product portfolio supporting energy transition.
- Safeguard and grow the AEI brand through strategic marketing initiatives to increase market share and brand awareness.
- Monitor market and competitor trends to adjust commercial strategies accordingly.
- Identify and integrate necessary data, intelligence, tools, and systems supporting sales and marketing functions.
- Manage the commercial budget and related expenditures.
- Implement and continuously improve sales performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the commercial sales team to achieve business goals.
- Establish a high-performance sales culture with clear objective setting and ongoing feedback including financial and non-financial targets.
- Foster an inclusive, diverse, and engaged commercial team environment.
- Coach line managers to support both business and individual growth objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to enhance organizational performance and culture conducive to sustainable commercial growth.
- Translate business strategies into commercial operational plans aligned with company values and mission.
- Promote AEI leadership behaviors and company values across the organization.
- Develop cross-functional understanding and foster a collaborative, high-performing enterprise.
- Champion safety and wellbeing initiatives for all colleagues.
- Understand key business challenges and support relevant initiatives.
- Participate in broader DCC activities and ensure AEI’s commercial practices align with group vision and objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, Energy or related discipline.
- Extensive experience as a senior management team member, preferably leading B2B sales functions, ideally in renewable energy, utilities, construction, or related sectors.
- Experience within large, complex organizations is preferred.
- Proven track record managing multiple sales channels.
- Ability to translate complex market and client requirements into effective sales strategies.
- Strong senior leadership capabilities with experience leading teams and managing organizational change.
- Commercial acumen including expertise in strategic and financial analyses.
- Familiarity with various CRM platforms is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of the Irish energy market landscape, regulatory frameworks, and trends.
