Overview
The Head of Clover Product & SMB Growth at Fiserv is accountable for steering the product strategy and driving commercial success for the small and medium business (SMB) segment throughout EMEA, with a core focus on Clover as the primary growth catalyst. This leadership role involves shaping the regional SMB platform strategy encompassing hardware, software, value-added services, the app ecosystem, and partner capabilities. The role aims to support market expansion, streamline the platform, and enhance merchant outcomes. Key success factors include securing new SMB clients, boosting Clover adoption in key markets and channels, and migrating existing non-Clover SMB merchants to tailored Clover solutions that enhance user experience, revenue generation, retention, and long-term platform simplification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own the commercial strategy for SMB across EMEA, linking product priorities with market initiatives, sales execution, and financial results.
- Position Clover as the main growth driver for EMEA SMB, while providing clear pathways for migration, simplification, and monetization of other SMB portfolios.
- Drive growth by acquiring new SMB merchants and migrating current non-Clover SMB clients to suitable Clover-based solutions.
- Advocate for EMEA SMB market, merchant, and partner requirements within the global Clover leadership forum.
- Design and implement Clover's product and commercial vision regionally, ensuring regional input is integrated into the global roadmap and investments.
- Manage the EMEA SMB platform roadmap, prioritizing investments across Clover hardware, software, value-added services, integrations, and app ecosystems aligned with merchant needs and market scalability.
- Formulate tailored go-to-market strategies by market and channel, encompassing direct, partner, JV, bank, AQaaS, ISO, and emerging distribution models.
- Oversee pricing, packaging, proposition development, sales enablement, demand generation, and initiative launches to accelerate SMB and Clover growth.
- Manage product and initiative life cycles tactically and strategically, linking roadmap choices to outcomes like revenue, margin, retention, adoption, and customer satisfaction.
- Implement disciplined back-book migration approaches including prioritization, financial justification, customer impact analysis, operational readiness, and sequencing.
- Act as the principal commercial interface for EMEA SMB and Clover channels, leadership, global teams, finance, marketing, operations, and JV partners.
- Effectively operate within Fiserv’s matrix structure by aligning stakeholders, driving decisions, resolving obstacles, and ensuring accountability without relying solely on direct authority.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven commercial leadership skills with the ability to develop growth strategies, translate them into actionable market programs, and link activities to financial outcomes.
- Strong engagement skills with sales teams, partners, clients, and prospects to gather insights, develop solutions, and make pragmatic commercial decisions.
- Decisive leadership with the ability to form clear opinions, challenge constructively, own complex problems, and drive stakeholder resolution.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities, especially within matrix organizations involving multiple senior stakeholders and shared accountability.
- Capability to balance strategic insights with pragmatic execution, ensuring plans transition from development to meaningful results and measurable performance.
- Deep expertise in product and commercialization disciplines including roadmap prioritization, business case development, pricing, packaging, go-to-market strategies, enablement, and performance monitoring.
- Competence to direct and prioritize investment decisions across SMB platform components, balancing global platform trends with regional market needs and commercial returns.
- Adept at managing a dynamic EMEA environment with multiple market, product, commercial, technology, finance, operations, legal, compliance, and market priorities.
- Data-driven and customer-focused mindset utilizing metrics such as financial performance, merchant insights, channel feedback, Net Promoter Scores (NPS), attrition, retention, and adoption rates to guide decisions.
- Self-motivated with energy to establish structure, highlight risks early, resolve obstacles, and maintain momentum amid competing priorities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience leading growth strategies across SMB, payments, fintech, acquiring, commerce, POS, or SaaS sectors spanning multiple EMEA markets.
- History of success in commercial strategy, business development, product management, and proposition commercialization.
- Experience executing portfolio migrations from legacy or non-strategic platforms to modern solutions with a clear business case, operational preparedness, and customer impact management.
- Hands-on familiarity with point-of-sale tools including hardware, software, app ecosystems, SaaS offerings, e-commerce, and value-added services tailored for SMB merchants.
- Proven ability to define software, services, and platform investment roadmaps that enhance merchant experience, increase product attach rates, and generate recurring revenues.
- Experience working across distribution channels including direct sales, partners, ISOs, joint ventures, banks, or AQaaS models.
- Strong understanding of operating within a global-regional matrix, effectively partnering with global product and technology teams while advocating regional market priorities.
