Job description
Job Purpose
The Head of Business Development will lead efforts to generate new revenue streams across Health & Benefits and Commercial Risk sectors. This role involves identifying new market opportunities, driving strategic growth plans, developing sales competencies, and capitalizing on cross-selling prospects.
Key Duties
- Manage and achieve annual new business revenue goals across all lines of business.
- Create and implement effective sales and growth initiatives to boost market share and deepen business engagement.
- Strategize and carry out business development plans including sales campaigns to maintain a strong opportunity pipeline.
- Detect emerging opportunities in the market and analyze industry trends alongside competitors' activities.
- Forge partnerships to support overarching growth ambitions.
- Proactively identify and develop cross-selling avenues by collaborating with Health & Benefits, Commercial Risk, and Client Management teams, while tracking success rates and revenue.
- Oversee proposal, tender, and sales pitch processes, focusing on improving conversion metrics and win ratios.
- Lead and motivate the Business Development team towards building a results-driven sales culture and nurturing future leaders.
- Ensure pipeline governance and sales reporting are up-to-date; provide insightful market intelligence and revenue forecasts to executive management.
- Manage talent acquisition, development, succession planning, and performance management within the department.
- Guarantee compliance with all business acquisition procedures.
- Oversee budgetary responsibilities including revenue forecasting and sales performance reporting.
- Enhance the use of CRM systems, sales analytics, reporting tools, and pursue digital initiatives for business development.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
- An MBA is preferred for this role.
- Professional credentials like ACII or Dip CII are highly desirable.
- Additional qualifications in sales, business development, or strategic account management will be advantageous.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of relevant experience within insurance, consulting, financial services, or business development roles.
- Proven success in generating significant new revenue and leading sales & growth teams.

- This position is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and subject to local labor laws.
- Reporting line is directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
