Job Summary
This role is responsible for steering the development and management of both internal and external applications and digital systems. The head of application development will ensure projects are aligned with the overarching digital transformation strategy, effectively meet business and customer requirements, and consistently promote technological innovation and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage policies, procedures, and workflows for application development activities.
- Lead technical feasibility studies and analyses for new system implementations.
- Ensure the development and maintenance of applications effectively address business goals.
- Coordinate the deployment and launch of applications.
- Enhance and scale existing applications to support future growth.
- Oversee management of websites and mobile app solutions.
- Manage system integrations with various government and private sector entities.
- Provide oversight of technical support services and issue resolution processes.
- Champion automation projects and process redesign efforts.
- Drive innovation through adoption of advanced technologies such as AI and intelligent automation.
- Undertake additional relevant duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of pertinent work experience, preferably employed within governmental or semi-governmental organizations.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in fields such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in contemporary technologies and adherence to industry best practices.
- Proven skills in managing applications and systems development lifecycle.
- Must hold a UAE family book, confirming Emirati status.
