Role Overview
The Guest Service Officer position requires an approachable, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual who actively listens and provides support to guests, addressing their concerns to enhance satisfaction. This role demands exceptional hospitality skills, excellent customer service, clear communication, strong organizational abilities, and sound decision-making capabilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role within the hotel or related hospitality industry.
- At least one year of experience handling cash, with knowledge of US currency and exchange rate systems.
- Demonstrated customer service proficiency, capable of engaging with guests professionally, considerately, and positively through active listening.
- Effective communication skills to diplomatically handle guest issues, collaborate with department heads, and coordinate with shipboard staff to find resolutions.
- Competence in operating basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and printers/copiers.
- Completion of high school or equivalent basic education is preferred.
Language Proficiency
- Fluency in spoken English with clear diction is mandatory.
- Ability to read and write in English to comprehend and convey instructions, interpret procedures, and respond accurately to inquiries from guests and colleagues.
- Knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish is highly advantageous.
