Job description
Role overview
A fast-scaling international consulting group backed by private equity is hiring a Group Head of FP&A to take ownership of global financial planning and analysis at a senior executive level. This position sits close to the leadership team and interacts regularly with shareholders, the C-suite, the CEO, private equity investors, the Board and the Group CFO.
Reporting to the Group FP&A Director, this is a hands-on leadership role focused on strengthening the quality, speed and effectiveness of the global FP&A function. The successful person will help shape financial strategy, improve planning processes and support a major upcoming transaction while working with a strong team across finance business partnering and commercial finance.
The role is best suited to a senior FP&A professional at Senior Manager, Head of FP&A or VP level with strong in-house FP&A experience. A background that includes private equity ownership, complex global organisations and exposure to transformation, M&A and transaction services would be particularly valuable. Experience from practice, or from a highly commercial large-cap business, is also considered relevant.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the CEO and CFO for divisional reviews covering financial performance, budgets and reforecast cycles.
- Take ownership of group-level reporting, forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning, and keep improving these processes.
- Serve as the final reviewer for Group FP&A outputs, ensuring the numbers are accurate, robust and consistently dependable.
- Continuously develop planning frameworks so they work effectively across a global, multi-region business.
- Deliver high-quality MI, analysis and financial insight to the global CFO and investors, with strategic models that are clear, structured and aligned to forecasts and reported results.
- Build and apply financial strategies that support growth and improve profitability.
- Make financial models transparent and aligned to core FP&A outputs and actual performance.
- Use finance systems and data to improve the usefulness, speed and clarity of insight for stakeholders.
- Manage short-term reforecasts and respond to ad hoc requests, including planning for major projects and M&A activity.
- Lead financial modelling, investment appraisal and due diligence work for acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Candidate profile
This opportunity is aimed at professionals with experience in consulting, professional services, technology or business services. Prior work in private equity-backed environments and comfort presenting to boards and senior executives in demanding situations is important.
Applicants should be fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with 5–10+ years post-qualification experience. The role requires substantial in-house FP&A experience at Senior Manager level or above.
