About the Organization

Sid Jacobson JCC is a well-established community-focused organization that works to improve the lives of individuals and families through programs centered on wellness, learning, culture, and social connection. Serving seniors, young people, and families, the organization aims to provide an inclusive and engaging environment where people can grow, connect, and feel supported.

Role Overview

Sid Jacobson JCC is looking for an adaptable freelance graphic designer to contribute to marketing, communications, and branding work across the organization. The position includes hands-on production work as well as creative campaign development, with the goal of creating visually strong assets that support outreach and engagement. The right candidate should bring a refined design sense, strong visual storytelling skills, and the ability to turn ideas into polished creative materials for both print and digital use.

In this role, you will partner with internal teams to develop concepts, produce designs, and maintain consistency with the organization’s brand across a range of initiatives. The work calls for strong attention to detail, comfort with juggling multiple assignments, and the ability to deliver on tight timelines.

Qualifications

The ideal freelancer will have a solid background in graphic design and a portfolio that demonstrates creativity, typography, layout, branding, and storytelling. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, is required. Experience creating multi-page publications and preparing artwork for print is preferred, and familiarity with optimizing digital assets will be helpful.

Good communication, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to collaborate smoothly with internal stakeholders are important. Skills in motion graphics, video editing, or web design would be an added advantage. Strong quality control, consistency, and an eye for detail are essential.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for creating, editing, and producing a broad range of graphic communications for different organizational needs. This may include brochures, flyers, invitations, direct mail pieces, publications, posters, videos, website graphics, animated content, banners, plaques, social media creatives, logos, and other digital assets.

You will also develop complete campaign branding packages such as save-the-dates, invitations, digital promotions, event signage, presentations, and materials needed on the day of an event. Protecting and applying the organization’s visual identity consistently across all deliverables is a key part of the job.

Other duties include building layouts and visual compositions that communicate clearly through type, imagery, and design elements; managing projects from concept through final delivery; checking finished work for accuracy, consistency, color quality, and print readiness; and preparing files for both print and digital channels.

At times, you may need to handle urgent or fast-turnaround assignments. Clear communication, organized project management, and a proactive approach will be important to deliver work that meets expectations and deadlines.

Benefits

This freelance role offers hourly compensation of $25 to $75, depending on experience, project complexity, and skill set. It also provides the opportunity to work with a respected community organization, take on meaningful creative projects, and strengthen your portfolio.

Remote working flexibility is available, supporting better work-life balance. You will gain exposure to a variety of assignments, including branding and event-related design work, while contributing to a mission-driven organization focused on community impact.

Equal Opportunity

Sid Jacobson JCC is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes people from all backgrounds. The organization is committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Creativity, collaboration, and integrity are valued, and applicants who want to support the organization’s mission are encouraged to apply.
