  • Work with hiring managers to create inclusive, mission-aligned recruiting approaches.
  • Arrange pre-employment checks, prepare offers, and help ensure onboarding runs smoothly.
  • Support compliance with employment laws and regulations, including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and Title VII.
  • Advise on employee relations matters, performance management, and workplace concerns using a practical, solution-oriented approach.
  • Maintain accurate employee files, HRIS records, and reporting data to support analytics and metrics.
  • Strengthen engagement through recognition efforts, events, and other morale-building activities.
  • Take part in fact-finding and investigations to help maintain a respectful and safe workplace.
  • Assist with performance management and staff development initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with the Director of People & Culture on HR programs and organizational priorities.
  • Handle multiple priorities while keeping a steady focus on people and organizational needs.

What you need

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Preferred HR credentials such as PHR or SHRM-CP.
  • At least 5 years of broad HR experience, including recruiting, employee relations, and policy implementation.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions or change management is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, clear communication, and high emotional intelligence.
  • Solid knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms such as ADP Workforce Now and applicant tracking systems is beneficial.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between sites and external meetings.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment.

Benefits and culture

  • Medical, dental, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage.
  • Paid time off of up to 16 days per year at the start, plus up to 8 paid holidays.
  • Tuition reimbursement for continued learning.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with profit sharing.
  • Casual dress code.
  • Training, development, and advancement opportunities.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Participation in federal student loan forgiveness programs as an employer.
  • A workplace culture that values long-term growth and internal advancement.
  • A servant-leadership environment focused on employee success and well-being.
