About the Team
The Risk Intelligence unit operates within the Risk Detection division, focusing on bridging intelligence gathering, analysis, and system design. Their objective is to evolve from largely manual and reactive processes toward scalable, data-driven, and proactive detection methods across first- and third-party data sources, collaborating closely with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and other Trust & Safety teams.
Role Overview
This leadership position entails combining sound judgment, operational expertise, and system-level thinking. Reporting to the Global Head of Risk Detection, you will influence priorities and enhance the function’s quality and capacity by offering strategic insight and fostering trust to enable expanded responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and cultivate a high-performing Risk Intelligence team focused on intelligence collection, analysis, and supporting proactive risk identification.
- Translate team and organizational goals into actionable plans, operational procedures, and measurable results.
- Enhance methods for collecting, organizing, storing, and utilizing intelligence by strengthening integration across first- and third-party sources to improve detection accuracy and decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to refine detection inputs, data acquisition, internal tools, reporting, and automation of intelligence workflows.
- Identify gaps in operations and pursue improvements throughout the intelligence cycle, including automating or augmenting processes leveraging structured data, rule-based systems, machine learning, and AI solutions when suitable.
- Set and monitor clear impact metrics, targeting detection quality enhancement, operational efficiency, and upstream prevention improvements.
- Foster a healthy and high-standard team culture characterized by sound judgment, transparent communication, strong partnerships, and ongoing development.
Qualifications
Required:
- More than 5 years’ experience in intelligence, risk management, trust and safety, investigations, operations, product strategy, or related areas.
- Proven success in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects within fast-paced and ambiguous situations.
- Strong analytical skills with sound judgment, capable of making careful decisions in high-pressure or uncertain contexts and using data to identify issues, prioritize opportunities, and guide decisions.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with influence across matrixed organizations.
- Experience applying automation or AI-enhanced solutions to optimize workflows.
- Track record of refining systems, procedures, or operating frameworks, beyond merely operating within existing structures.
Preferred:
- In-depth knowledge of OSINT techniques, adversarial online behavior, and intelligence-driven risk analysis.
- Experience partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to enhance tools, workflows, or detection capabilities.
- History of leading teams through phases of growth, process evolution, or capability enhancement.
- Willingness to offer alternative viewpoints constructively and challenge assumptions, including your own.
- Comfortable engaging closely with senior leadership, balancing alignment with independent viewpoint contribution.
- Background in technology, government, media, law enforcement, national security, or related sectors is an advantage.
