Job Overview

We invite motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Portering Services team at Glan Clwyd Hospital and surrounding community locations. Both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged to apply, with Welsh language ability regarded as desirable. The role involves the timely movement of patients and goods, requiring physical effort such as lifting, transferring, pushing, and pulling heavy loads with mechanical assistance where appropriate. Mechanical aids may include sack and pallet trucks, powered and manual tugs, and stair climbers. This position is demanding physically but offers a rewarding opportunity for those committed to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver essential portering support across hospital departments, responding promptly to patient and goods movement requests.
• Assist during emergency situations as required.
• Collect and deliver samples, medications, meal trolleys, linen, mail, and other hospital goods efficiently.
• Cooperate as a team member to ensure smooth operation of services, adapting flexibly to changing workloads and environmental factors.
• Use initiative to manage unpredictable daily demands and maintain service quality.
