Position Overview

Playfly Sports is seeking a General Manager to spearhead a collaborative partnership with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame located in Springfield, MA. This hybrid role necessitates the ideal candidate to reside within approximately two hours driving distance from the Hall of Fame.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy in conjunction with the Hall of Fame to surpass revenue targets for Playfly.
  • Oversee profit, loss, and budgetary tracking to achieve and exceed EBITDA goals.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure numerous new and renewal high-profile corporate sponsorship deals.
  • Establish individual performance standards and support team members in meeting objectives.
  • Leverage stakeholder relationships and conduct market research to pinpoint potential sponsors locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Collaborate with Playfly leadership and Hall executives to generate sales inventory, forecast revenues, and devise sponsorship strategies.
  • Create engaging sales presentations grounded in research and client marketing goals.
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize sales proposals and sponsorship contracts.
  • Engage clients through in-depth needs assessments and a cooperative sales methodology to define marketing objectives.
  • Maintain relationships with sponsors through various entertaining settings and events.
  • Produce comprehensive annual summaries highlighting sponsor engagement.
  • Professionally represent the Hall of Fame, Playfly Sports Properties, and affiliated entities.
  • Stay informed of trends and developments in sports sponsorship and marketing.
  • Gain thorough knowledge of all Playfly business segments to capitalize on new opportunities and leads.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • 8 to 10 years of proven sales experience within the sports multimedia sector; 12 or more years of sales experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience managing a sales team is required.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or surpassing budgetary and revenue benchmarks.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms like KORE or similar systems.
  • Strong competency in integrated and conceptual sales strategies.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and offer creative client solutions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in delivering polished professional sales presentations.
  • Highly motivated and receptive to coaching to effectively execute Playfly's revenue models and client relationships.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability for travel to the Hall of Fame, special events, and client meetings.
  • Capable of lifting and other physical demands as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range for this role spans from $160,000 to $170,000 annually, with exact packages dependent on an individual candidate's qualifications, expertise, certifications, and geographic considerations.
