The Finance team is looking for a responsible General Ledger Accountant (m/w/d) based in Düsseldorf, starting as soon as possible. The role is offered as a full-time, permanent position.
Role overview
In this position, you will take care of core general ledger accounting tasks, support financial closing activities, and help maintain accurate and compliant financial records. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders, support audits, and contribute to the improvement of financial processes and policies.
Key responsibilities
- Post all business transactions in the general ledger in line with HGB and GoB requirements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts and perform balance sheet and profit-and-loss analyses.
- Assess transactions while taking cost centers and cost units into account.
- Safeguard data quality and financial integrity, and monitor transactions.
- Support internal and external audits and prepare statistical reports.
- Help develop and implement financial guidelines and improve processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional interfaces, contribute to projects, and help onboard new employees.
Requirements
- Completed commercial training or similar qualification with a focus on accounting or finance.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in financial accounting.
- Strong knowledge of German commercial law (HGB).
- Confident user of common accounting systems such as SAP and DATEV.
- Very good Excel skills and routine use of MS Office.
- Strong analytical thinking and a good sense for numbers.
- Experience with financial close preparation and reporting.
- Good written and spoken English skills at B2 level or above.
