About the Company
CXC Upstream is a vertically integrated mining group and a major gold producer in the region, with operations centered in Geita, a highly productive gold-mining area in Tanzania. The group runs four mining locations, including a significant mountain-based gold asset backed by more than five decades of proven reserves. Its activities cover the full mining chain, from extraction and processing through to logistics and operational support. The company also operates a dedicated precious metals processing plant, manages specialist mining equipment, and offers private aviation services to help move people, equipment and resources efficiently.

Position Overview
The Accounts Assistant will help ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, keep accounting records up to date, support reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting. The role calls for close attention to detail and the ability to perform well in a fast-moving operational setting while following company procedures and relevant financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter supplier invoices, expense claims and payment requests accurately and within required timelines.
- Prepare payment vouchers and keep all backup documents complete and properly filed.
- Post transactions into the accounting system on a daily basis.
- Match bank statements, supplier balances and customer accounts to accounting records.
- Keep accounts payable and accounts receivable records accurate and current.
- Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting.
- Support activities related to month-end and year-end closing.
- Track unpaid invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables when needed.
- Maintain well-organised filing for financial documents, contracts and supporting paperwork.
- Help keep inventory and fixed asset registers updated.
- Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules and documents.
- Follow company finance procedures, tax obligations and internal control requirements.
- Assist with payroll-related support and reconciliations for statutory payments when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance position.
- Background in mining, manufacturing, construction or another asset-heavy industry is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of local tax rules and financial reporting standards is required.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software or ERP platforms.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
