Role overview
This position involves assessing GCSE Computer Science responses for the 2020 specification against a set mark scheme, while following recognition rules and examination procedures. Most marking is completed through an online platform and can be done from home, although some subjects are still reviewed in the traditional way using paper scripts mailed to examiners. A strong command of the subject is essential to apply the marking guidance correctly, and each examiner is assigned a fixed batch of scripts.
To be shortlisted, candidates must have experience with Python programming language for 1CP2 02.
Responsibilities
- Apply the mark scheme carefully and consistently so that marking standards remain uniform.
- Send required samples to the Team Leader at the specified checkpoints.
- Complete marking within the required milestones and deadlines.
- Finish all administrative tasks exactly as instructed.
Experience and qualifications
- At least one academic year of teaching experience, gained within the last 8 years and within the relevant qualification and subject area.
- A degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Qualified teacher status.
- Practical experience with Python.
