Job description

About the Organisation

Respond is an Approved Housing Body and service provider that has been operating across Ireland for four decades. Its aim is to support high-quality housing within lively, caring communities by working with partners to help build sustainable neighbourhoods where people are proud to live.

The organisation places strong emphasis on equal opportunity and on developing a workforce that reflects a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Applicants are encouraged to consider the role even if they do not meet every listed criterion, as other strengths and relevant qualities may still make them a strong match.

Role Overview

The Front of House Concierge will be the first welcoming point for residents, guests, and contractors in a busy residential setting at Rathbourne, Ashtown, Dublin 7. The position combines reception-style service with day-to-day community support, helping maintain a safe, organised, and pleasant place to live.

This role also involves handling access arrangements, delivery coordination, communication support, and the monitoring of communal spaces and building-related issues. A key part of the job is encouraging positive resident interaction and helping information flow smoothly between residents and management.

Employment Terms

This is a permanent, full-time position of 39 hours per week.

The advertised gross annual salary is between €30,203 and €39,086. Offers are usually made toward the lower or middle part of that range depending on the candidate’s experience and skills.

Resident, Visitor and Contractor Welcome

  • Receive residents, guests, and contractors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable presence at reception or in the lobby.
  • Manage visitor sign-in and sign-out procedures, along with access approvals.

Resident Support and Community Engagement

  • Act as a helpful first contact for residents and respond promptly to questions or requests.
  • Assist with practical needs such as amenity reservations, service details, and local suggestions.
  • Develop positive rapport with residents by being approachable and, where possible, learning names and preferences.
  • Address concerns with tact and discretion, resolving issues directly when appropriate and escalating when necessary.
  • Distribute notices, updates, and event information through the agreed communication channels in a clear and accessible way.
  • Support community spirit by encouraging respectful use of shared spaces and helping organise or support activities that strengthen neighbourly connections.
  • Help foster an inclusive environment where residents feel safe, respected, and valued.

Deliveries, Post and Parcels

  • Accept, record, and store incoming deliveries securely.
  • Inform residents quickly when parcels arrive and manage collection arrangements.
  • Coordinate larger deliveries and contractor access so disruption is kept to a minimum.

Access Control and Security

  • Oversee access control tools, CCTV, and intercom systems where available.
  • Issue, manage, and track resident and contractor fobs or keys.
  • Escalate suspicious behaviour, security issues, or any signs of damage or risk.

Safety, Maintenance and Incident Reporting

  • Spot, record, and report maintenance faults, hazards, and incidents.
  • Raise urgent issues without delay and follow them through to closure.
  • Support emergency procedures, including evacuations, and act as fire marshal if trained.

Shared Area Oversight

  • Check communal areas regularly to confirm they remain tidy, safe, and inviting.
  • Work with cleaning or caretaking teams to address issues promptly.
  • Keep noticeboards, signage, and information displays up to date and visually effective.

Experience, Skills and Training

Applicants should have background experience in customer service, hospitality, residential front-of-house work, or community-focused engagement. Strong people skills, clear communication, and confidence using IT systems such as access control tools, parcel logging systems, and email are important. The role also requires a dependable, punctual, and well-presented professional approach.

Experience in residential or mixed-use developments is considered an advantage, as is familiarity with security systems, GDPR practices, and resident or tenant engagement methods.

Desirable training and certifications include customer service or front-of-house training, Fire Warden training, First Aid, Manual Handling, and, where relevant, SafePass or a Security Licence. Fire Warden and First Aid training may be provided.

Core Competencies

The ideal candidate will bring professionalism with a people-centred mindset, active listening, empathy, initiative in solving problems, strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with others.
