Job Overview

SSP Canada operates multiple dining venues at Vancouver International Airport, including restaurants such as Whistler Taphouse & Grill, Lift Bar and Grill, Urban Crave, Sal y Limon, Romers, and more. We prioritize outstanding guest service and diverse culinary offerings.

Role Description

The Food Service Attendant role involves preparing, serving, selling, and restocking various food and drink items for our guests. This position requires working in a secured airport area with necessary transport safety clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and professionally.
  • Accurately record orders using POS systems.
  • Handle customer payments and provide correct change.
  • Set up, maintain, clean, and dismantle machinery and equipment used during shifts.
  • Conduct opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as stipulated.
  • Ensure all used items are returned properly, and maintain cleanliness and organization of work/storage spaces including coolers and refrigerators.
  • Empty and reline trash containers routinely.
  • Perform required cleaning tasks following health regulations under supervisor guidance.
  • Carry out additional duties as directed.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a food service setting.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Proficiency in English to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Ability to memorize and promote a variety of menu selections.
  • Familiarity with operating POS systems and keyboard skills for order processing and checkout.
  • Capability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended durations.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly wage ranges from $21.25 to $25.00 depending on internal versus external status.
