Position Overview
At SSP Canada, Food Service Attendants play a vital role in preparing, serving, selling, and stocking an array of delicious food and drinks to our guests. Our operations at Calgary International Airport include establishments such as Belgian Beer Cafe, Bad Egg, Bistro on the Bow, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, and upcoming venues Mi Casa and Wander by Chef Nicole Gomes.
Work Environment and Requirements
This role is based within a secure airport environment, necessitating possession of a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC). Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada and be able to supply government-issued documentation for airport security clearance as per Transport Canada regulations. Key Duties
- Warmly welcome guests and interact courteously.
- Accurately take and input customer orders into POS systems.
- Handle customer payments and provide correct change.
- Set up, maintain, clean, and dismantle machinery and equipment used during shifts.
- Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as prescribed.
- Ensure all used items are returned properly, clean and organize workspaces and storage areas including coolers and refrigerators.
- Empty and replace trash liners efficiently.
- Carry out cleaning duties following supervisor instructions to maintain health standards.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of experience in a food service environment.
- Preferably high school diploma.
- Proficient in English to communicate effectively with guests.
- Memorize and promote various menu items confidently.
- Skilled in using keyboards and POS systems to process orders and close checks.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and work in confined spaces.
